Regency Park 6th Grade Students (left to right) Joshua Sprumont, Colin Lewis, and Alexis McDade deliver the morning announcements and inspirational thought to the students and staff.
Good Morning, Regency Park Friends…
Regency Park students in Mr. McIntyre’s and Mr. Pfeiffer’s 6thGrade classes are stepping up to the microphone! Each week a student from each of their rooms greets the students during the morning announcements and leads us in the Pledge of Allegiance, reports on the Regency birthdays for the day, shares the lunch menu and building updates, and reads our weekly inspirational quote.
After reading the quote all week, one of the 6thgrade students then shares a kid-friendly meaning of the quote so that all students can better understand its inspirational meaning. Finally, our announcers sign off with… “That’s all we have for you today. Go be your very best… and REACH!
REACH stands for Respect Everyone And Climb Higher. A way to show respect is shared in the announcements so that students can relate the meaning of respect with real examples to better understand it. Students are permitted and encouraged to submit a favorite “Thought for the Week” to Ms. Shirey to be considered for the morning announcements throughout the year.
So far, students were asked to show respect in the hallways by walking quietly so they don’t disturb others and show respect on their buses by staying in their seats and listening to the drivers and monitors.
This week’s inspirational quote was by famous football coach Vince Lombardi:
“It’s not whether you fall that’s important. It’s that you get back up.”
