Minimum Requirements: Registered Nurse or License Practical Nurse; current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications; ability to work independently and cooperatively; excellent verbal and written skills in communicating with diverse audiences; ability to correctly dispense a wide variety of medications to students 5-18 years of age; attention to detail; willingness to take responsibility for student well-being; demonstrated commitment to professional comportment; and appropriately respond to pediatric illness and injury. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and job related software applications.

Responsibilities:  Services include, but are not limited to, first aid, immunization assessment and follow-up, communicable disease control, health education, health appraisals, development of school health plans and child abuse reporting. Develop and maintain an accurate, complete file on each student with documentation of relevant health records, required immunizations and information on pre-existing medical conditions. Dispense prescribed medications at appropriate intervals. Initiate contact with families or alternate contact persons in the event of serious illness, injury or other medical emergency. Collect and enter health data into an administrative database. Communicate in a calm, knowledgeable manner regarding health-related advisories and potential crises. Conduct outreach with community service agencies to provide relevant information regarding student health. Complete other duties and administrative tasks upon request in a timely manner.
