Reports to: Director of Educational Technology
Description: This individual will be responsible for overseeing the virtual computing architecture for the Plum Borough School District. Additionally, this person will provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical assistance to students, faculty, and administrators of the district via phone, remote desktop, and in person settings.
Technical Skills and/or Certifications Required: Cisco networking, Windows 7 administration, Windows Server 2008 administration, VMware administration, computer troubleshooting and repair, experience with Xirrus wireless equipment or Cisco telephony a plus. Preference will be given to those with up-to-date Cisco, Microsoft, A+, N+, and/or VMware certifications.
Required Education: Associates degree in network administration, computer repair, or systems administration required. Bachelors degree in computer science, information systems, or network administration preferred.
Required Experience: 1-3 years experience working with virtual servers, troubleshooting hardware and software, Windows 7 and Office 2010, and basic networking and systems administration required. Experience working in a school district technology department a plus and must be an independent worker who can handle multiple tasks in a team-oriented environment.
