Title IX

  • The Plum Borough School District is fully committed to equal treatment of our male and female student-athletes.
  • No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.
  • Some key issue areas in which recipients have Title IX K-12 obligations are: recruitment, admissions, and counseling; financial assistance and athletics.

Duty to disclose

  • All public-school entities with students enrolled in grades 7-12 shall annually submit information to the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) regarding interscholastic athletic opportunities and treatment for male and female secondary school students for the preceding school year.

  • The Athletic Department is required to report specific financial information including, coaching salaries, transportation costs, supply and equipment costs, and uniform costs annually by October 15th for the preceding year.

Non-School Funds

  • Effective the 2014-15 school year, all school entities are required to collect and to submit financial data pertaining to interscholastic athletics from the previous school year. This includes any PBSD expenses for each sport along with non-school contributions, donations, gifts-in-kind, and purchases.
