Scholarships 17-18

Scholarships 17-18

This is a list of all scholarship opportunities available through the guidance office at Plum Senior High School. It can be accessed at the Plum School District website which is www.pbsd.k12.pa.us.   Once on the website, go to the guidance link and then to the scholarship link. This list will be updated as each new scholarship is made available to us. The listing will remain on this website until the application deadline. These scholarships can be found on the bulletin board in the guidance office. Please do not have your parent call and request that we send a scholarship to you. You are responsible for pursuing these opportunities on your own. If there is only one application left in a particular file, you must make a copy of it. It is unethical to take the last copy of a scholarship to better your chances of being awarded the scholarship by eliminating others’ opportunities to apply. If you are aware of scholarships that could be posted here, please contact Mr. Betta.

There are several scholarships being offered by the Pennsylvania American Legion. They can be found at http://pa-legion.com/programs/student-programs/.

One grand prize winner will receive $10,000, one runner-up will receive $5,000, and the third-place entry will receive $2,500. We want students to submit their idea for a presentation that would discourage their peers from dangerous driving behavior (drunk driving, texting and driving, etc.). It can be a video, a website, a creative writing piece – whatever your kids can come up with. An outside panel of judges will review the entries and pick winners based on creativity, effort, and how effective the student’s entry might be in educating their peers. Complete details and applications can be found at https://www.edgarsnyder.com/pdf/scholarship-application.pdf and are due March 30, 2018.
