At the library each school year, the
students will have the opportunity to explore their interests, interact with
technology, learn the appropriate way to safely browse the Internet, and, most
importantly, further their love of reading!
students will find their old friends at the library, such as The Cat in the
Hat, Harry Potter, Junie B. Jones, and Percy Jackson. Just around the corner there will be new
friends awaiting them as the students branch out into other interests and
genres. Everyone is a reader. Some just have not found their favorite book
Throughout the year, high interest
topics will be carefully selected to engage the students. The students will be using technology and the
resources within the library to conduct research on these topics. Each grade level will also have the chance to
go through different lessons that are outlined by Common Sense Media. These lessons will focus on teaching the
students how to appropriately and safely explore the Internet.
My hope is that each student enjoys
spending time in the library each week and can develop an interest in a certain
genre that can propel their reading abilities.
I look forward to seeing everyone at the library!
only thing that you absolutely have to know is the location of the library.” –
